Addressing the Need for Differentiation AI Avatar Technology

In response to the shifting consumer landscape in South Korea, NH Bank sought to increase its efforts in expanding its AI technology capabilities. The company recognized the digital transformation in the South Korean banking industry and the need to adopt similar technology as its competitors. Despite being the most successful agricultural and commercial bank in the country, NH Bank had been considered to be lagging behind its competitors in its technological portfolio, with five key rival banks already implementing AI Human technology in collaboration with DeepBrain AI.

Introducing Your AI Banking Companions

DeepBrain AI and NH Bank collaborated to generate two custom AI avatars using aggregated data from 200 existing employees, with 100 from each gender. This led to the development of two AI-generated bankers with appearances that represent NH Bank’s workforce. This approach deviated from the conventional process of synthesizing data from a single human model, allowing NH Bank to differentiate itself from competitors in AI avatar technology.

Hwang Jae-Cheol, the Digital R&D Center Director of Nonghyup Bank, states, "The avatars have an approximate accuracy rate of 96.7% in lip-syncing. It also has 18 gestures, the most among domestic banks [in Korea]." The additional movements enhance the avatars' realism and versatility, resulting in more lifelike and engaging interactions and experiences for customers.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) played a critical role in building this solution, providing the necessary infrastructure for hosting and synthesizing DeepBrain AI’s avatars and solutions on the cloud.The company utilizes Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) to support its AWS services, including Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), which enables scalable growth of Kubernetes clusters for avatar and video synthesis, as well as web-scale cloud computing. 

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) then provides secure and resizable compute capacity in the cloud, while Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) ensures streamlined and efficient data storage and retrieval. DeepBrain AI's integration with AWS demonstrates its dedication to rapidly scaling its infrastructure to meet demands and drive innovation.

Beyond Conventional Services: AI Redefining Banking

Along with providing custom AI Bankers, DeepBrain AI developed a dedicated kiosk system where the AI Banker can be accessed by customers visiting NH Bank’s brick-and-mortar branches. The AI Banker kiosks introduced many benefits for NH Bank, notably:

This collaboration also marked a significant milestone for DeepBrain AI’s AI avatar technology. Following the AI Banker Kiosks’ success, NH Bank officially recognized the avatars as employees and even provided them with employee registration numbers and ID cards.
